About us

Swami Amlanand Yoga Ashram is situated in Kumbh Nagri Haridwar in Uttarakhand State which is 200 km from New Delhi. Haridwar is known as the Gateway to the Himalayas and ashram is located in Kankhal, Jagjeetpur, just 15 minutes walk to sacred river Ganga. We, ashram’s team under Diksha-Ji guidance announce to offer a spiritual darshan of Ardh-Kumbh Mela in Haridwar which is going to be celebrated in 2027 in between January to April. Ashram has its own daily routine and provide accommodation, satvik meals, yoga practices, fir puja, kirtan and chanting and guides and toure to Kumbh Mela as well as sacred dip into Ganga and taxi facility on additional cost.

Ardh- Kumbh Mela (Half Kumbh) is a major Hindu Pilgrimage held every six years either Haridwar or Prayagraj, serving as a significant mid-point between the full 12 yeras Kumbh Melas, attracting millions for ritual bathing in sacred rivers to cleanse sins and attain spiritual liberation. 

What is Kumbh Mela?


Kumbh Mela is one of the most auspicious religious mass pilgrimage event in Hinduism which occurs in every 12 years. It is also one of the largest peaceful gatherings of people anywhere in the world with millions of devotees and pilgrims partaking in the grand pilgrimage and take a dip in the holy river the Ganges to absolve all their sins.

Why Kumbh Mela celebrates in Haridwar?

Haridwar is consideres one of the Sapta Puri oe ‘Seven holy places’ according to Hinduism. The Kumbh fair traces its origin in the ancient legend of Samudra Manthan. When the battle of churning ocean between Devas and Asuras led to the creation of Amrit, The Lord Vishnu instructed Garuda to fly away with the elixir to keep it beyond the reaches of asuras. 
Reserved and sacred texts in Hinduism proclaim Haridwar to be one of the four places whwere frops of Amrit, the elixir of immotality were dropped from the Kumbn (pot) by Garuda, the celestial bird of Lord Vishnu.

Kumbh Rites and Rituals

Millions of pilgrims congregate on the banks of river Ganges to take part in the ritual bathing. It is believed taking a dip in the Holy water at the auspicious Kumbh Mela cleanse devotees of all their sins.
Another popular ritual at Kumbh Mela is the Peshwai procession which marks the arrival of members of different akhaara and sect of sadus. For example, the Naga sadus are the first to enter the holy water according to the fair tradition. Other rituals like devotional singing of hymns and religious discourse also take place at the Kumbh.
One another important aspect of Kumbh fair is the darshan of ascetics, sadhus and sages who usually nomadic, congregate at the Kumbh fair at large number. The hindu pilgrims and devotees who visit Kumbh make sure to seek blessings and guidance from the sadhus towards their own spiritual life.

Would you Arrange Taxi?

Yes, we can arrange taxi for pick-up and drop-off to airport/ train station. We can alo arrange taxi/ tuk tuk for day trips in Haridwar, Rishkesh and dehradun. 

Ashram is situated in Haridwar, 200 km from New Delhi Airport. It takes 5 to 6 hours to reach Haridwar by car, bus or train.

Ashram is situated in Haridwar, 25 km from Dehradun Airport. It takes 45 min to 1 hour to reach Haridwar by car or bus. 

There are shared or private room available at the ashram on different price.

In Ashram you will get satvik food. (3 Meals per day)
